LifeWork Letter On Thanksgiving
November 2009

Greetings,

Welcome to LifeWork Letter!

As I write this, it is Thanksgiving Eve. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year, even if it is figure- challenging. I love this day because it raises my consciousness about being grateful for all the blessings in my life. (Well, then, there's the 4-F factor, too: Family, Friends, Food, and Football.)

I hope these quotes and songs help to bless your holiday.

I wish you the very happiest of Thanksgivings and joy all through the Holidays.

Many Blessings,

Connie

May your days be many and your troubles be few.
May all God's blessings descend upon you.
May peace be within you may your heart be strong.
May you find what you're seeking wherever you roam.

    - Irish Blessing

A true friend is the greatest blessing of all blessings, and that which we take the least care of all to acquire.

    - Francois de le Rochefoucauld

There is no disaster that can't become a blessing, and no blessing that can't become a disaster.

    - Richard Bach

Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.

    - William Arthur Ward

As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.

    - John Fitzgerald Kennedy

If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.

    - Meister Eckhart

Blog Article Re-Visited: On Loss, Gratitude, and Moving On

Below is are two excerpts from an article on gratitude, posted on my Blog site on August 30, 2009. To read the complete article, click on the link below.

Last week, the following quote came across my desk:

"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard."

    -Little Orphan Annie

    ....

Each time we experience a loss - especially one that moves us deeply - we can understand, as Little Orphan Annie did in the opening quote, that if we are deeply feeling the loss of someone or something it is because we had a special connection with, or relationship to, it. If it was hard to lose, it must have been very good or special when we had it. And in the recognizing of this - in the counting of our blessings - comes the healing and the gifts that can never be taken from us. And with this, we can move on.

    ....

    YouTube Song: "Happy Thanksgiving"

This video by Adam Sandler has some funny moments that might tickle your funnybone.

Caution: This video is rated PG and MNFV (OK for teens but not younger children - and maybe not for vegetarians).

YouTube Song: "The Blessing" - Celtic Woman

A beautiful blessing for all the people you love in your life - lovers, friends, family.

    "The Blessing"

In the morning when you rise
I bless the sun, I bless the skies
I bless your lips, I bless your eyes
    My blessing goes with you.

In the nighttime when you sleep
Oh I bless you while a watch I keep
As you lie in slumber deep
    My blessing goes with you.

This is my prayer for you
    There for you, ever true
    Each, every day for you
    In everything you do.

And when you come to me
And hold me close to you
    I bless you
    And you bless me, too.

When your weary heart is tired
If the world would leave you uninspired
When nothing more of love's desired
    My blessing goes with you.

When the storms of life are strong
When you're wounded, when you don't belong
When you no longer hear my song
    My blessing goes with you.

This is my prayer for you
    There for you, ever true
    Each, every day for you
    In everything you do.

And when you come to me
And hold me close to you
    I bless you
    And you bless me, too.

    I bless you
    And you bless me, too.

Lots to do in the next five days!
