There is a goodness to life
that cannot be denied....
Open your eyes,
open your heart,
and you will see that
goodness everywhere....
Take a moment to let the goodness of life
touch your spirit, and calm your thoughts.
Then, share your good fortune with another.
For the goodness of life grows stronger still,
quietly, peacefully,
with more purpose and meaning
than ever before.
- Ralph S. Marston, Jr.

| Life is Good! |
 |
|
To everything there is a season, and a time for
every purpose under heaven.
For me, the season of joy is almost always
synonymous with this time of year, and this year
perhaps more so than any May I can remember. There
is so much to be thankful for this year.
I am writing this newsletter on an absolutely perfect
late spring New England day. The sun shines brightly
in a deep blue sky. It is warm, but not hot, and with a
light breeze. Leaves are out and there are flowers
everywhere, colors brilliant and in profusion. Birds
sing their songs of courtship and territory. On a scale
of 1
to 10, this day is a 15!
I am blessed with a wonderful family, a new
granddaughter on the way, some very special friends,
work I love, a healthy slimmed-down body, a joy in
activites such as singing, dancing, nature, travel,
writing, and walking, and a strong life energy fueled by
optimism, joy, and gratitude.
Yet, as with all things - such as the famous New
England weather - this, too, will change. Nothing lasts
forever and everything has its season. We came
through an especially challenging winter this year, or
so it seemed at the time - colder and snowier than
usual, and VERY long! When one comes through a
winter like that, whether it's climate-related or
metaphorical, meeting its opposite can be euphoric.
This is a time to remember that change is inevitable.
We can flow with change and experience minimal
stress, or we can resist it and experience a great deal
of stress and upset. About this, we have a choice.
One choice is to practice living in the Now, no matter
what is going on in our lives, to be present to what IS,
rather than lingering in the past with what was or
spending too much time in the future with what is not
yet to be. Our Book Pick for this month is all about
living in the Now and being present to what IS.
If this season is also a season of joy and delight for
you, then remember to slow down, smell the roses,
and enjoy! If it is not, remember that this, too, shall
pass, and your season of joy and delight will come in
its time.
What are the things that represent the goodness of life
for you? Call them to mind, notice them, and then
hold them in your heart.

| Book Pick: A New Earth |
 |
|
Many of our readers are most likely already familiar
with Eckhart Tolle's newest book, A New Earth:
Awakening to Your Life's Purpose. If you have not
had the pleasure of immersing yourself in this book,
NOW would be a good time to do that!
In a continuation and deepening of his first book,
The Power of Now, Tolle takes us on an inner
journey of exploration, helping us to separate our ego,
or persona, from our higher consciousness, or spirit
or soul. Just as Buddhism teaches us that the path to
happiness is through non-attachment, Tolle teaches
us how to develop that non-attachment by learning to
step out of our ego and into our higher
consciousness. And that is accomplished primarily by
staying connected to what is happening in the present
moment, rather than letting our thoughts live mostly in
the past or future.
For those of you who have not yet listened to and/or
watched the 10-part webcast series on this book, co-
hosted by Oprah Winfrey and Eckhart Tolle over a 10-
week period this spring, it is still possible to view each
90-minute webcast, which is archived on Oprah.com.
There is no charge to view these videos or to
download the audio versions. All you need to do is to
register.

I believe that true happiness and fulfillment comes to
us when we know who we are, when we are
comfortable and confident living in our own skin,
when we know what we want from Life, and when
we focus our best efforts on going for our dream -
whatever that may be. Whether you are an individual
or a business, I support you in this quest.
